A box is often used to store something valuable. The diversity of wood species is extremely valuable for the preservation of all living things in the rainforest. These thoughts have been incorporated into the creation of three unique wooden boxes.
The intention of the project is to convey the potential of lesser-known tropical species from the COATLAHL forest cooperative, located in the rainforest on the northern coast of Honduras.
Partners: The environmental organization Verdens Skove has sponsored the wood for the production of the three boxes. They work to preserve Honduras' rainforest, among other things, through sustainable forestry. Cabinetmaker Kristian Frandsen, owner of Snedkersind, has designed and produced the boxes.
“Du milde Himmel” - The box contains an organically shaped interior, in which the planets of our solar system are depicted. Each planet is turned into a spherical shape, revealing the wood’s nuances, textures, and grain directions.
